About
We are the Junior League of Chattanooga
Junior League of Chattanooga is a volunteer organization for women interested in making a positive impact in their community. Founded in 1917, Junior League of Chattanooga is the second oldest League in the South and is part of the Association of Junior Leagues International.
Junior League of Chattanooga empowers women through leadership training and development to take action in their communities. Members of JLC are accomplished collaborators who build coalitions, identify community needs, and develop effective and responsive programs to meet those needs. Funds are raised through efforts such as our annual events and corporate sponsorships, and are used to advance our mission and goals.
Strength in Numbers
As one of hundreds of Junior League chapters across the world, we are a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI). Established in 1917, the Junior League of Chattanooga plays an integral part in the development, improvement, and support of our community with 96 active members and a sustainer league of 314 members.

Our Local Impact
We focus on supporting education through our League of Learners initiative, a multi-faceted approach to impacting children in the Chattanooga area. During our time, we plan to increase support for educators, children and their families by our Mini Grants program for local teachers, providing outlets of learning through our Little Free Libraries, and supporting many local organizations from Momentum, to the YMCA Food Program and more. We dedicate time and effort to also motivating and educating our members through training and influential keynote speakers present at our monthly Membership Meetings. If you’re interested in learning more, we welcome you to learn more about our community projects or contact our membership council.
Help Us Lead Change
There is always more work to be done, more help needed, and more opportunities to make an impact in Chattanooga. The empowered women of JLC are working to improve our local communities through leadership and effective action. Will you join us?
